Videos:
The videos provided were great examples of literacy centers
that can be used in any classroom. Students can work individually or in pairs
to develop literacy skills. Literacy centers are great for differentiating
instruction to meet the needs of your students. It was also really helpful to
see a good classroom set up to encourage students to work together. It also was
helpful to see the importance of modeling a lesson before expecting students to
do it independently. I love the book Spaces and Places by Debbie Diller. My
mentor teacher got me this book my first year and it is so valuable. It helped
me set up my room to meet the needs of my students and get my room organized to
give students space to learn and access materials easily.
